I met Karen at a recent speaking event I went to in Brisbane. I was a little awe-struck in a kind of ‘I want to be like you when I grow up’ kind of way. A naturally charismatic, eloquent and interesting woman - and a bloody good speaker - I giggled like a schoolgirl when she said to me ‘it’s like I’m talking to myself ten years ago’ (at least thats what I did later on in my car when no one could see or hear me). Epic compliment.
You know how EVERYONE is using the word ‘authentic’ these days, but most of the time, that’s code for ‘I put on full makeup, did my hair, got dressed, styled my background and placed a crumb on my desk to mess the scene up so I could take this “authentic” selfie’? Yeah… not this chick. Courts Lippett’s personal brand is ‘Daggily Authentic’ and she lives and breathes this in her personal and business life.
Since I worked in the corporate world, for a management consulting firm, I’ve been obsessed with Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a personality typing tool. When I first found out about it, it really helped me to get my head around, not only my own preferences and behaviours, but also those of people around me and how best we might work together.
Emma was one of the first people I had anything to do with in the online business world. Early on, her 7-day challenge helped me articulate my brand, my message and my client charter (in was sexier terms than that) and just this basic interaction was inspirational - the little extras she offered were nurturing, creative and personal.

“Inner Critic” is a pretty new term and concept to me… The first time Liz and I chatted, I asked her to explain - simply - what the hell everyone meant when they said ‘inner critic’ and I LOVED her analogy (listen in for it) and it really helped me to understand, make sense of it all and start to make some decisions about how I was and wasn’t going to interact with them anymore.
